Entrance Requirements for Programs
All applicants must have a high school diploma or a GED and must meet ONE of the requirements listed below:
- An Associate or Bachelor Degree
- A minimum of 48 college credits with at least a 2.5 GPA
A graduate of a general ultrasound school
- Completed a two year Allied Health School Program
Meeting one of the above eligibility requirements indicates that applicants have the academic skills necessary to succeed in the CVIU programs. If an applicant believes he or she has other exceptional academic or professional skills that should be considered in determining her or his eligibility, he or she may submit an attachment with the application declaring other education, skills, professional experience, etc. to be considered.
The application process is intended to first determine if the applicant possesses the academic skills necessary to successfully complete the program, and it is also intended to assist the applicant in deciding if cardiovascular ultrasound is an appropriate career choice for the applicant. Completion of a simple application is required, then an interview with a school representative and finally an aptitude test given at the school. A thorough description of the process is offered with the application.
Cardiac and vascular ultrasound modalities are the two most challenging fields in medical ultrasound. Cardiac and vascular ultrasound modalities are generating an abundance of employment opportunities because of the demand for more non-evasive diagnostics and the rapid development of technology. |
